The steel of the hull is just over 6mm thick and superstructure just over 3 mm thick. The interior has been treated with a rust preventative and insulated before being clad in tongue-and-groove and finally decorated to a high standard. The entire exterior of boat has been sandblasted, primed and painted in Jotuns Jotamastic epoxy paint, the paint was especially mixed for this vessel so it withstands both salt and fresh water ( enabling the new owners to moor anywhere ) and has a 20+ year guarantee (paint spec. can be seen ). Anodes has been fitted. In other words, whoever buys this boat will not have to do more than periodically wash-off for many years to come. The interior has had similar treatment, having been stripped back and primed to prevent rust and 'sweating' / condensation. The showee uses water stored in the boat's eight tanks, which are to be accessed via hatch into the hull. The boat has eight hatches in all, which have all been sand-blasted and painted with rust-preventative paint. These could provide extra storage. This boat has an interesting provenance : formerly owned and licensed by local brewery Shepherd Neame, she used to be the passenger ferry taking tourists up and down the Stour from Sandwich to Puck's Gutter. She then belonged to the harbour master who used her for river trips before she was partially converted to a houseboat but the vessel sadly fell into disrepair. The current owners have had her since 2006 and completed the conversion process and fully restored the exterior.
